Now some broadband deals come with a free wireless router and they are great but if you do not have one you will need to buy a wireless router to use in your home.
There are lots of different types of wireless router that you can buy but the best ones are the ones that include an ADSL modem. These take the broadband connection and share it with all of the computers in your home in the most simple way; they do not need a separate modem and they have all of the connections that you will need such as ethernet connections and the wireless signal.
Setting up a wireless router is fairly easy. You connect the desktop computers with ethernet cables and the laptops will connect wirelessly. You also have to place micro filters on the phone socket that your wireless router will use and any other phone sockets if they do not already have a micro filter.
You have to enter your broadband details into the wireless router via a control panel and this is very easy, you then have to set up each computer or laptop to use the network in Windows (there is a simple set-up system) and you have to make sure that each computer or laptop as the same workgroup name but the rest is quite easy. Then if you use any firewalls or Internet security software you have to allow access to the network and you should be ready to go.
